Lately, there have been a number of people wandering the halls of Fisher Hassenfeld, a dazed and confused look in their eye. Sometimes they are carrying sacks or baskets of clothes, or a plastic jug of detergent. Sometimes they are just cautiously peering around every corner, searching for the elusive but oh-so-important, LAUNDRY ROOM!
Let’s try to make this easier for you, dear Fishers. There are 2 laundry rooms in FH:
– 2nd Floor in Craig. Enter through the Baldwin door (right off The Nipple), and head up the steps. At the top of the steps, take a right and go to the end of the hall. The Laundry Room is on your right.
– 1st Floor in Class of ’28. Enter in the main Class of ’28 door, go down the steps, and part way down the hall you’ll see the laundry room.
Laundry in FH is free, Free, FREE!!!! But you have to provide your own soap/detergent. Please don’t use too much soap, k? Your clothes will still smell nice and fresh. Also, please do clean the lint trap before you use the dryer – it helps dry you clothes faster, which in turn saves energy, which in turn helps the planet a little bit every day.
If you want to see which washers and dryers are available at any given time, you can go to www.laundryalert.com, enter this code: penn6389, and see how many of the appliance are in use. Pretty cool, right?
If you still don’t know where Craig and Class of ’28 are in FH, get out of your room and do some exploring! Here’s a handy map of the House. Happy wash day!
