“The Vagina Monologues,” by Eve Ensler, is a compilation of monologues taken from the life stories of real women. The play is part of the international VDay campaign, which Eve Ensler launched to spread the word about violence against women and girls — and to STOP it. Penn proudly performs “The Vagina Monologues” each year to enthusiastic and sold-out audiences, raising tens of thousands of dollars in years past for local Philadelphia organizations fighting to stop violence against women. Come be part of the best production yet, and raise awareness about violence against women in our community. The production will take place in mid-February.
No acting experience necessary. All Penn women are welcome – students, faculty, and staff! (Guys – let your friends, girlfriends, professors, coaches, favorite Commons ladies, TAs – heck, let everyone know about auditions!) Scripts will be provided; there is no need to prepare anything prior to the audition. This year’s production will take place mid-February in Irvine Auditorium.
Not interested in auditioning? There are more ways than one to be a part of V-Day 2012! If you would like to get involved but not perform, come anytime during auditions to talk about helping out behind-the-scenes as part of the V-Crew (fundraising, finance, publicity, events).
